The history of Pytchley can be seen captured neatly on the many postcards that still exist, taken in the early to mid twentieth century.

| The picture above is of the High Street and is easily recognisable, although there is a cottage at right angles to the High St that is no longer there. The right hand picture of the horse trough at the bottom of Top End shows the Parish Houses, long since demolished.

Once again, this cottage has long since ceased to exist.
|
| It has been a long time since the Pytchley Hunt rode
throughout the village. The High Street is easily recognisable although a lot of the gaps between the houses have been filled in.

| Strange to think that the Church was once set back behind a row of tall trees.

|
| The trees, one must admit, did add that little bit of character although the Church hasn't changed much over the years, has it? Apart from the trees, that is. And it's interesting how something as simple as a road junction can alter over a period of time.

The Kettering Road is still instantly recognisable, although Butchers Lane seems to be missing the School gates. The lady at the door is thought to be Mrs Shrives.

The Poorhouse in Lower End no longer exists and Stringers Hill looks somewhat different. The Lodge Gates are shown in their new home at the entrance to Overstone Park.
