WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY THREAT

Recently the Pytchley Parish Council delivered a letter to every household in the village outlining the current Waste Management Facility threat and the Parish Councils views and objections. The council also attached a standard letter for anyone to use as a basis for their own individual representation.

Below is the full text of the objection letter and also a formatted copy of both letters. If you wish to make an individual representation, you can either cut & paste the section at the bottom of this page, or right click on the blue text and chose 'save target as...'.

The council recommends that as many residents as possible submit objections because, although the immediate threat has receded, it will return!

Dear Sirs,
Re: Location for Waste Development DPD August 2008.

I wish to object most strongly to the proposal to allocate a site for waste management use within the parish of Pytchley for the following reasons:

· The change in the original proposal leaves it unclear what is really now proposed and renders the consultation process seriously flawed, particularly when uncertainty about proposed improvements to the A14 remains.

· This site is on a greenfield agricultural site outside any development boundaries.

· It is adjacent to Kettering Venture Park (not an industrial site) including retail facilities, restaurants and fast food outlets, a hotel and public house.

· It is in close proximity to housing in all directions including Kettering and the villages of Pytchley and Isham, putting them at risk of the attendant problems of flies, vermin, smells, litter and increased traffic especially in the form of lorries accessing the site.

· It is in direct conflict with Pytchley Parish Plan which opposes all development between Pytchley and Kettering

· It is in conflict with the recently adopted Core Spatial Strategy (para.2.22), which states that the Growth Towns (of Kettering and Wellingborough) should not merge into a linear city or other form of conurbation. Development between the two towns tends to lead to such a merger.

· It would increase the burden on the A14 and A43, both roads with existing problems.

It is obvious from the above that this site is totally inappropriate and a site more suited to such a development should be found. It is an industrial development and should be sited on one of the many industrial sites within the county appropriate to this form of development.

Yours faithfully

(Signed)
