WELCOME TO THE PYTCHLEY PARISH COUNCIL PAGE!
This is the home page of the Pytchley Parish Council. If you want to view the minutes of past meetings please click HERE Pytchley Parish Council comprises 9 elected councillors and one part time clerk employed by the council. The parish council meet in the village Hall normally 6 times a year although additional meetings can be arranged if urgent business arises. The results of the council elections held on 1st May are as follows:
If you have any concerns or questions about the running of the village, please approach any councillor. Borough councillors for Slade ward which includes Pytchley Parish are James Hakewill and Michael Harrison. They may both be contacted via the Parish council chairman, the borough council offices or Kettering Conservative office. You can even email them by clicking HERE. Notes from Meeting held on 1st March 2004 Ten villagers attended the Annual Village Meeting which was held on March 1st. .The Chairman welcomed all those present, thanked the councillors and clerk for all their hard work over the past year and gave a report on the past year. He also gave a short report on the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. Mr. Frank Stanley gave the report of the Village Hall Committee, the new cloak-room facilities, committee room and extra storage space are almost finished and thanks must go to the various official organisations and general fund-raising by villagers which had made this work possible. It was hoped in the not too distant future new windows could be installed and new tables and chairs purchased. Various topics were raised by villagers, but the main concerns were the state of disrepair of the village approach roads including the constantly blocked drains and the number of very dangerous pot holes. The amount of litter on the approach roads, especially that from fast food outlets and the larger articles such as fridges which were being dumped. The problem of dog fouling on the village pavements was also an emotive subject. Villagers are reminded that anyone in charge of a dog seen fouling a footpath can be fined £1000. A dog waste bin has now been installed near the Orlingbury Road bus stop, all dog waste should be deposited in this or taken home by the person in charge of the dog. On the subject of litter the Parish Council hoped to hold a 'Village Spring Clean' on National Environment Day, June 4th and the weekend of June 5th and 6th. All villagers are to be encouraged to keep the roadside areas around their homes clean and litter free and to help in the general 'tidy up' of the village. The County Council are again to be notified of the disgraceful and dangerous state of the roads in the hope that eventually they will be resurfaced. Concern was also raised about the village bus services (see previous article in the Parish News). Villagers were reminded that they could join the KATS scheme or hospital trips etc. could be covered by drivers from the Kettering Volunteer Bureau. At the council meeting following the Annual Meeting various planning and financial matters were discussed, it was noted that following a meeting by councillors with the Borough Council lighting representative, work had now started on upgrading the village lampposts. It was hoped work would soon start on fencing off the Recreation Ground from the Village Hall car park and as soon as a suitable site is agreed a fixed picnic table and benches will be installed on the Recreation Ground. The date of the next Annual Meeting was set for Monday March 7th 2005
and the next Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday 17th May at
7.45pm in the Village Hall, this meeting will be preceded by a Neighbourhood Watch meeting.
Notes from Meeting held on 7th July 2003At this meeting matters of finance, correspondence and planning were After much discussion it was decided to offer no objections to the building of The ongoing saga of the new Village Hall sign was discussed and Cllr. Lodge agreed to pursue the matter. It was noted that some road pot holes had been repaired and some white lines repainted but there were still manly pot holes in Broughton, Orlingbury and Kettering Roads that needed repairing and the white lines at the village end of Kettering Road still needed painting. The 30 mph sign in Kettering Road was obscured by overgrown trees and whilst the overhanging trees on Stringers Hill had been dealt with the pathway leading from High Street to Manor Gardens was badly overgrown - the relevant authorities would be notified about this. It was carried unanimously that the Parish Plan be adopted, Cllr. Lodge will now arrange for the final document to be printed and made available to interested parties. Cllr. Brown gave an update on the proposed Village Hall annex, installation of a toilet for the use of disabled people and the updating of the present cloakroom facilities. Plans are now with the Borough Council and it is hoped work will soon Commence. Fund raising is still needed as the full amount needed is in excess of £24,000. Cllr. Jelley asked if a specially designated disabled parking space could be provided and this was duly noted. Cllr. Anson who has resigned from the Parish Council for personal reasons was thanked by the chairman for all her hard work during her term of office. There are now two vacancies on the Parish Council. The next Neighbourhood Watch and Parish Council meetings will be held in the Village Hall on Monday September 1st. Notes from Meeting held on 12th May 2003The Parish Council meeting held on Monday May 12th was the first meeting Various items were discussed including, finance, correspondence, planning decisions and applications, 20MPH traffic signs, the state of the Kettering Rubbish Tip and fly tipping in rural areas. It was noted that following the engagement of a "street tidy person" for two hours a week the village was looking much tidier. The "non-appearance" of the new Village Hall directional sign was noted and will be followed up, the Village Plan is progressing and after consultation with local authorities the final document will be available soon.
Nothing will be known about the A509 Isham By-pass until the end of May,
